    Dear Mr. Saltzman,

I’m 21 yrs. old and I’m a senior in college. I’ve been working with the Enneagram for about 1 1/’m starting up a group at my college around the Enneagram; taking people thorugh it, showing them the different types, etc. I wanted to know: do you have any advice to give as to how this group should proceed? I already have an outline, but could you send a reply to me?

    Thanks,

    Matt

P.S. Congrats and Merry Christmas to your new born baby!

    Hi Matt,

I’m not sure what your structure or intentions are for the group, but I am glad you are interested in the Enneagram and bringing it to your college. I was thinking abotu my groups and what the most important components are. It sounds like you relatively new to the system so I would hold it as more of a study group, an “exploration” of type, rather than a group where you do a lot of facilitation.

So the members of the group will be exploring their inner world and reactions and sharing what they learn about themselves with the members of the group as things unfold.

I’d have people come up with precise self-observation exercises around specific aspects of their type so they can watch it happening in real time and interrupt the cycle as it’s happening.

Self awareness training is typically a good starting point for working with the Enneagram. The depth and all the rest will unfold as you are ready for it.

Let me know how it goes.

    I will! Thanks.
I planned on doing mostly self-evaluation work, and have weekly meetings. If you know of any “self-observation exercises” that you think would be good, please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hi Matt,

Self-Observation practices can be tricky to design… what are you looking for, when do you look…

I have an online training that specifically helps you design self-observation practices for people. Here is a brief description of it…

“In this program I do live work with one of my students who is a type Seven on the Enneagram.

We walk through the process of designing a precise
self-awareness practice so he can catch himself in the
act, release the Type Seven impulse, and take totally
new action to get better results in the world.”

It is part of a package that you can read about at the following link,
    http://www.touchedandtransformed.com/essence_connectors_description.html

When you buy the main product you get the training as a Bonus.
Enjoy it. And call if you have any questions.

    Ben!

I know it’s been a while, but the groups just finished recently. The results blew me away.

I took people through the Enneagram, and everyone came away changed and thankful because of it. I even meet with two people one-on-one each week and we go through all the stuff they’ve been going through. (Coaching!)

Thank you so much! Please keep doing what you’re doing.
